5.56 and 7.62 are in mm, they are bullet diameters

.223 an .308 refers to 0.223 inches and 0.308 inches, if may take reference of these cailbers after you convert them into mm.

five-five-six 同 two-two-three 在gas pressure方面有差別的...槍管標明係5.56則兩種子彈都可以打，槍管標明係223則只可以打223子彈

308 have higher pressure than 7.62. they are not completely the same spec.
