any ching here has experience with the PDI 6.01 CQB-R (275mm) inner barrel? how does it compare with the stock PTW copper M4 or CQBR length barrel in terms of accuracy?

I don't consider myself as a weak person but I just can't manage the stock steel barrel (+ an ACOG) for gaming anymore (it's just too freaking heavy to keep me from being mobile on the field) so I am seriously thinking about cutting weight by going short. if the PDI 6.01 is not far offer from the stock copper inner, I might get one to go with the shorter setup.

You know, according to the PTW forum, some experts were saying CQB barrel is actually by far the most accurate barrel compare to the other two length. Anything longer than that will only increase FPS, while reduce the accuarcy. With the diameter of the barrel, it comes to the same answer, the tighter the barrel, the higher the FPS, however, there is nothing like the tigher the barrel the higher the accuracy. (which ppl usually mistaken). If you have read a PDI barrel package, it actually indicate the 6.01 barrel will increase FPS, but reduce accuarcy. If you want accuarcy, it recommend you to use 6.08 barrel. Therefore, if you want a PDI barrel, I will stick with 6.04 CQB length. By the way, some ppl said the stock barrel is not bad, even compare the the PDI barrel. The PDI barrel will only give you so little advantage that sometime you can't even notice. Hope it helps, any ching have any idea, please share. I want to know how ppl is thinking about diff length or diameter about inner barrel. Thanks.

Well, I'm not expert on PTW! However, I brought few of them with PDI barrels to mud around at my backyard. Just listen from some other C-Hings opinion:- AEG is pumping / compressing normal air to generate the power and the smooth bore inner barrel with tighter dia. will increase FPS and the reduce accuracy (however, accuracy is personal thing; ie. range of shooting, shooting habit), however, tight bore barrel the longer the barrel the degrade of accuracy. I did read some Japanese magazine explain in detail in physics angle to play airsoft guns, they have the same conclusion as #2 mentioned. The C-Hing summary in actual world both PTW barrels and PDI barrels are high performance and difference is only a cap of the paper thickness. PDI is expensive which make you feel better!

Yes, I agree for PLAYING airsoft game, the use of light weight barrel is GOOD, even the advance rifles finding the way to reduce the weight to increase soliders endurance in combat situation. However, due to cost problem, the suitable material is steel barrels, we try pulling the gun close to the body to reduce the torgue effect and do more back exercise to overcome the pain generate by heavy weight rifles. This is life for solider, but for game warriors we have a lot of choices.

Totally agree with you. I remember I read an article on ARMS magazine about testing a different length/diameter of barrel on the accuarcy and FPS. I was suprise that one japanese brand 6.10 barrel (not a popular brand in HK at all) is the most accurate barrel out of all the other barrel althought the FPS is the lowest. That's the time I start believing wider the barrel diameter, the higher the accuarcy. However, if the diameter is too wide, then of course you are going to lose a lot of power(FPS).

#6 Yes! For AEG the larger the inner dia. of the barrel the less power because lower initial air pressure (air pressure escape on the cap between the BB and barrel forming an air-cup which reduce turbulence "vibration" thus, making the BB travel in smooth striaght path with less velocity) ! However, for GBBR (pressurised gas propellent) the longer the barrel (longer acceleration time) the expansion of the compress gas volume increase the barrel air pressure just like the real gun, therefore, good accuracy with very high speed, if using 6.01 dia. barrel, the FPS could go somewhere 700!

Anyway, PTW is really something very outstanding irregarding using original or PDI barrels for both power and accuracy.
