anyone know if it will be possible to use a longer barrel and handguard for the hk416a5 from the hk416? the VFC HK416a5 seem to be only the carbine length at 11". what I want is 14.5" or 16.5".

I guess that VFC will provide you a barrel extention in the HK416A5 package to make it look like 14.5 inch, just like what they have provided in the HK416D package

personally I like the look of the 14.5 handguard. it's slightly different as the front sight of the 11 is located on the handguard, whereas the front sight of the 14.5 and longer are located on the barrel. there are just these details which bothers me

Then I think you may look for the 'Benghazi' version of the HK416D. It is a limited edition which features a flip-up front sight on the gas block and a HK416C style rear sight, but in a 416D configuration.

I think you're talking about the hk417 right? in any case, I'm not sure about the compatibility of the hk417 barrel to the hk416a5. also there is the adjustable gas system knob above the barrel. I'm wondering if the front sight and barrel of the Benghazi 417 can be integrated/extended on the hk416a5 barrel. I will definitely look into this to see if VFC will provide additional parts.

also, anyone know the release date of the hk416a5?

I feel like I will need the same length handguard from a 416, extended barrel from a 416, and the front flip up sight from the 417 bengazi edition (hoping it will fit the 416a5 gas block and that the gas block will fit on the 416 extended barrel). do you also know if the real steel 416a5 handguard is compatible with vfc? I'm doing research and it seems that the standard 416 handguard can fit on the vfc 416 handguard, just like many other airsoft M4s and real steel handguards.
