The tie contains non-toxic biodegradable polymer crystals that turn to a gel when soaked in water. This polymer soaks up to 800 times its own weight in liquid, then slowly releases it through evaporation creating a constantly cool surface. It sits comfortably on the neck, cooling the major arteries that carry the blood from the heart to the brain, reducing the body temperature. It is made of polyester which prevents colours from fading or running and gives the tie years more life than those made of cotton. The tie is re-usable many times over and with regular use will last 4 to 5 years. It can be handed washed with a mild soap. It does NOT use cystals from nursuries or hardware stores and has been tested for use to satisfy certain medical conditions.
