Linksys, but what are you cable or ADSL?

Buffalo is not bad few years ago as well.

Linksys is all right. If you set it properly you should be OK.

There is two types of broadband in the world, one is ADSL which need to connect to the telephone port and also need to have micro filter connect with ALL the phone devices including Fax machine etc. If you buy a ADSL router it should be have a build in modem inside so you could just leave this box alone.

Another one is cable which normally using a cable like a TV cable to connect with a modem box. from there you could connect with a broadband router to share the connection or connect with only one computer.

This is very difficulty to ex[plain clearly if you have little or no networking knowledge.

I really do not understand what you are saying.....Router is only to share the internet connection ( I call this add as a traffic controller) and it is a simply little computer contents with software and hardware.

It won't cause any slow or fast with small internet transmission such as home use.

The Linksys router using Cisco software which is one the best networking software.  Consider the price you pay for I this this would be the best choose.

You can open the P2P port normally 6881 to 6889 for the PC you are using P2P with their IP address. Then it should be OK. This is only a security setting from the router software.

If you do have problem with using P2P you could let me know and I shall show you how to do it.
