御林軍由五隊 Foot Guards 加兩隊騎兵組成. Foot Guards 分別是: Grenadier Guards, Coldstream Guards, Scots Guards, Irish Guards, Welsh Guards.  騎兵是 The Life Guards 及 The Blues and Royal.  
Grenadier Guards - 帽之羽毛在左邊, 白色, 單鈕排列
Coldstream Guards - 帽之羽毛在右邊, 紅色, 雙鈕排列
Scots Guards - 帽沒有羽毛, 鈕三粒三粒排列
Irish Guards - 帽之羽毛在右邊, 藍色, 鈕四粒四粒排列
Welsh Guards - 帽之羽毛在左邊, 白綠白色, 鈕五粒五粒排列
以上次序亦顯示各部隊的Seniority, 不容調亂. 簡單來說, Grenadier Guards 歷史最悠久, 亦最Senior, Welsh Guards 成立時間屬最年青.  但其實成立御林軍之前已有 The Regiment of Coldstream, 所以 Coldstream Guards 雖然排名第二, 但Motto 卻是 "Second to None", 他們認為自己才是最Senior. 故此 Coldstream Guards 和 Grenadier Guards 常常互相競爭, 彼此都希望勝過對方.

但有趣的是, 以前戰爭當中通常最右邊的都是 Grenadier Company, 因他們要負責投擲手榴彈, 所以現在每年英女皇壽辰會操 (The Birthday Parade or Trooping the Colour), 無論哪一隊負責 Troop the Colour (展示軍旗), Escort for the Colour 前進取旗的時候一定是奏 'The British Grenadier".

MS爺爺, 印象中Coldstream Guards好像曾經在香港駐軍, 你知否是什麼年份??

Thanks 銘, so there were Coldstream Guards, than 1st Battalion, Duke of Edinburg Royal Regiment (1 DERR), Roral Regiment of Wales (RRW), and the Black Watch being the last British Troops stationed in Hong Kong before 1997.

They are now an infantry battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
