I think at that period there were no Cordura fabrics for body armour production. I guess the manufacturer had to use other fire retarded and water resistant fabrics to make body armour. The 80's SDU body armour in the picture was produced by some kind of plastic texture with water resistance coating.

呢張相喺1992廣洲樓年代影，你可看見medi隊員身上的裝備跟1984年差不多，但當時巳改用了Avon SF10防毒面具。

The body armour that they were using during 80's was made by Bristol Armor with hard plate. British SAS CRW also used the same brand but similar model body armour in the 80's.
