兩年前貼過既17解說

LPD-17聖安東尼奧級(San Antonio)兩棲船塢運輸艦為美國21世紀之兩棲作戰主力，預計建造12艘來更換包括奧斯丁級，新港級等等總數達27艘的兩棲登陸艦及運輸艦。LPD-17設計時以降低操作人員需求，降低操作成本，預留未來改良空間，減少對友軍作戰艦隻的依賴，大幅提升自衛作戰能力。在設計初期艦橋桅杆使用類似DDG-51柏克級神盾驅逐艦的傾斜式輕質合金桅杆，但隨著海軍低可視度科技的發展，艦橋桅杆使用最先進既密封罩式桅杆雷達系統(AEM/S)，艦上使用之雷達，通訊天線及其他電戰設備均收藏在兩座八面體高塔內，不但大幅增加隱匿性更減低靈敏度高之電子設備遭受海中鹽份之傷害。推進系統一改以往二線作戰艦隻所使用既蒸汽渦輪推進系統，而是使用重量較輕，成本便宜既柴油機作為推進器。艦體結構從設計一開始就擁有高度匿踨既造型，原本露天設置之裝備也盡量採用隱藏式設計，再加上一體化之罩式桅杆雷達系統，LPD-17因而大大降低了雷達反射率。
在兩棲作戰能力方面LPD-17既艦尾飛行甲板能夠操作海軍陸戰隊各款直昇機，包括CH-46，CH-53，AH-1，AH-64
及AV-8B等，起降能力方面飛行甲板能同時操作兩架CH-53E海種馬大型運輸直昇機或六架AH-1W超級眼鏡蛇攻擊直昇機，或是四架CH-46海騎士中型運輸直昇機或是兩架MV-22魚鷹傾旋翼機。艦上所設之機庫有能力為一架海種馬，兩架海騎士，三架超級眼鏡蛇或一架魚鷹傾旋翼機作維修服務，而機庫的艙門更由三道重達18000kg既水平防爆鋼板組成。艦內設有3層面積達25402平方尺既車輛甲板，兩個容量達25548立方尺既彈藥貨艙及一個1234立方尺既燃料艙。艦尾泛水船塢可容納兩艘LCAC(氣墊船)彧14架最新AAAV (Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicles)先進兩棲攻擊車。
艦上配備既自衛武器更為美國歷來兩棲船艦中最強大，LPD-17使用SSDS MK-2艦船自衛作戰系統，整合艦上雷達及電子系統所得之目標，並指揮艦上改良型海麻雀ESSM及公羊式RAM短程防空導彈進行接敵，相對以往之兩棲艦艇防空能力有質的飛躍，LPD-17所配備的ESSM及RAM構成中近兩層防空彈網，中程之改良型海麻雀ESSM以4枚一組裝填於艦首兩組8聯裝MK-41垂直發射器內，合共64枚；近程之RAM則取代美軍制式MK-15方陣近迫系統，分別裝填於兩具21聯裝MK-49發射器內，以上兩款導彈皆為美國下世代艦隊近程防空主力，並具有攔截超音速掠海反艦導彈既能力。對付小型水面艦艇則可使用兩門衍生自鍊蛇(Bushmaster)-III型30mm機砲及兩挺點5吋機槍，30mm MK-46機炮為提高命中率故安裝於雙軸穩定基座上，並備有紅外線影像儀，電視攝影機的光電射控儀，可在戰情中心遙控或在砲位上以人力操作。
LPD-17使用最新的船艦建造科技，艦上並裝備有最先進既C4I(Command，Control，Communications，Computer
and Intelligence)，全艦各武器系統，偵測系統及作戰系統均由雷神公司最新研發之艦用光纖網絡(fibre-optic
Shipboard Wide Area Network，SWAN)連接，艦上並各設有兩間設備先進既手術室及牙科手術室。
