dude... it is the sniper define the rifle, any rifle on the hands of a sniper is a sniper rifle. (don't argue about mp5, ak47....etc. c'mon be smart, if you're a sniper, are you gonna take any of these w/ you? when it's talking about your life. So yea.... i think you get the concept. Back into your question, yes, m14 is a good choice for a sniping, in real life, some say it is better to classified into DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) it is a rifle that between sniper rifle and assault rifle. They're use for accuracy fire in a squad, but they're not very good in sniper operation. DMR including SPR, SDM-R, SAM-R, m14, m25, m21. cheers
