I can still vividly remember the 70th Anniversary performance of the RAF Central Band in April 1988 at the City Hall.
The next occasion was the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain Concert, also of the RAF Central Band, once at the RHKAAF HQ Hanger in Kai Tak (I was the Corporal sentry), the second concert at the City Hall (I was a member of the audience and everyone was in their Mess Dress and No 1 Service Dress)
I can also vividly remember my duty
as Sqn Standard Orderly and Sqn Standard Escort at the BOB Memorial Service every year at RAF Sek Kong from 1990 to 1992 -all that slow march down the Sek Kong Chapel aisle and our No 1 Best Blue versus the RAF Tropical Khaki Drill ...all memories now but just like yesterday

The very quintessence of Britishness - "The Dam Buster's March"
- I celebrated the 90th Anniversary myself by purchasing the re-mix DVD of the 1954 classic "The Dam Busters" from HxV as well as getting a 1/144 scale 617 Sqn Dambuster Lancaster from E-bay. I will get the 1940 style Irvin Fying Jacket for this winter!
"The Dambusters" will be re-made this year and the 1:1 scale mock ups are being designed in NZ and made in China... I guess this time the "Upkeep" bouncing bombs are in th authetic barrel shape instead of ball shape in the 1954 movie classic (sensitive info not yet declassified - that was a mere 12 years after the actual mission)
Salute to the RAF and may the friendship between RAF and Hong Kong continues.

Either flight training was very stressful or his bonedome must be too tight
