GM was awarded in the early 1970's to a police inspector who performed a number of rescues in relation to the Jumbo Seafood Restaurant Fire.

I draw equivalence between MBG and GM/GC because the former is the highest possible award for bravery in HKSAR. One would be given a MBG in HKSAR for achieving similar feats to earn the GC in UK

The reason I used "knighthood" and not KBE is because before 1997 knighhoods (even now, for the very few HK citizens who still received British honours after 1997) come under several chivalry orders:

mostly in the form of Knight Bachelor and KBE

KCMG for diplomats, businessmen hugely successful in international trade and of course, governors of HK

KCB (Military) for generals  (e.g. CBF)

GBE, GCMG and GCB are the advancement grades

香港爵士通常為KB, GBE, KBE/DBE (仲有KstJ都算掛）

BEM同MBE有時都好相近，好多社會賢達都攞BEM


Badge of Honour 係一樣好得意嘅野，英國系統中係搵唔到嘅，似係港英嘅創作

而"紅雞繩"就更地道

由英王喬治五世於1917年6月4日所創立。勳章分民事和軍事兩類，共設5種級別，分別為

爵級大十字勳章 （Knight/Dame Grand Cross，男女皆簡稱「GBE」）
爵級司令勳章 （Knight/Dame Commander，男性簡稱「KBE」，女性簡稱「DBE」）
司令勳章 （Commander，簡稱「CBE」）
官佐勳章 （Officer，簡稱「OBE」）
員佐勳章 （Member，簡稱「MBE」）
在上面五等，只有獲最上兩等的授勳英國或英聯邦王國公民才算取得騎士爵位，可以在他們的英文名稱前加上「Sir/Dame」頭銜，或在他們的中文名稱後加上「爵士/女爵士」頭銜。如果有外國公民獲最上兩等的勳銜，他們只可當作名譽性質，並不能冠上任何頭銜。

此外，原本還有一個不列顛帝國獎章（British Empire Medal），獲勳人士雖然並非不列顛帝國勳章的成員，但卻與此勳章有聯繫。現時，不列顛帝國獎章已不再於英國及其屬土頒發，但是庫克群島和部份英聯邦王國則仍有頒發。

本勳章的格言是「為了上帝和帝國」（For God and the Empire），它是英國各騎士勳章中最低等級的一個，成員也是最多的一個。

据聞在軍隊.....外界不得而知?如果你的老細推薦你攞MBE........如果事成......白金漢宮會給你一封信.........大意說有人推薦你........如果你接受請書面同意接受......
MBE每年都有是額配給........但BEM是Medal........只要你老細推薦就可以了

為防止有些包頂頸,炒牛腩........皇室避免碰壁........例如.......MBE.....我唔希0你省d喇?

從前有嚴格限制........例如四個人千辛萬苦救了一個傷者...四個人一個是上校一個是上尉,一個是三条半.....另一個是老散.........
上校攞 OBE
上尉攞 MBE
三柴半攞BEM
老散攞CBF獎狀
不像香港.........集体..........

到現在最低是MBE.....一視同人
