二十一世紀俄國SKS步槍大變身

ehh, i don't like sporterized SKS's i think they look the best left alone. i think the wood stocks are the prettiest and the stocks that SHOULD be on it

the one that takes AK mags is an SKS-D paratrooper, it's Norinco, made in china

and if you get that pistol grip/folder stock and get a freaking AK style 30rd mag, you'll have to switch out for 5 us made parts, according to the 922r US ordnance law. SKS's don't have enough US made parts aruond.

I like AK's more than SKS's. true that SKS's are more accurate, but if you want accuracy, don't use anything that shoots the 7.62x39 round. i like 7.62x51 for accuracy.

SKS's are cool rifles though, but i think they're best left alone and original.

again, i'm the kind of guy who likes everything as original as it can be.

if you ever by any chance magically end up in central Tx, i have a range that you can shoot up to 400m, you can then test out 5.45x39, 5.56x45, 7.62x39, 7.62x51, 7.62x54r, 30-06 and 7.92x57, all side by side.. basically, between my friends and i we have most of the popular military cartriges, and since we're starting a university shooting club, we'll have more firearms to pool between us!!!

my personal experience with all these rounds would be the same old saying, there's not a single round that would outperform all others in all aspects, but there are cool little things that you observe, like the 5.56 shoots through 1inch steel at 200m while the 7.62 doesn't even leave too much of a dent, and the accuracy of 7.62x54r rifles are actually very good for the price you pay for them

then you could also play with handgun ballistics... we've got everything ranging from .22LR, to 9mm, to .40 to .45 to .357mag and .44mag and one of my friends even has a .454 casull!!!

i just took these so you'd have a better idea on the .454

common pistol rounds, left to right:
.22LR, 9mm Luger/9mm Parabelum, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .38 special(yep the same one the HKPD uses, and the one on the far right would be the .454 Casull

Common modern assault rifle rounds:
7.62x39, 5.45x39, 5.56x45, 7.62x51, 7.62x54R

and this is how a .454 casull compares to a 9mm and a Sig

read up my friend, read up:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9_mm_Luger_Parabellum

9mm luger, 9mm parabellum and 9mm luger parabellum are the same things, noone knows what 9mm parabellum is here in the US, it's called 9mm luger
yep, it's the same cartriage the germans used in WW2 for their Luger's, MP40's and their P38's... and the same one that the Glock 17, Beretta M92fs and Sig P226's shoot.

it seems like only europeans use the name "9mm parabellum", but it's both the same.

actually, it's designed for big game hunting and stuff like that
and yes, it's a great bear hunting/defence round, along with the .500 S&W, if you haven't seen that round, you should check it out
